Sick, injured, bald, elderly, aggressive - you name it, we have seen it all. Ferrets with medical or behavioral issues will be prioritized for surrender.
We seek veterinary care for each ferret to ensure they are as healthy and comfortable as possible while in our care. Being a no-kill shelter means we do not euthanize ferrets for time or space constraints. We will find them new homes once they're ready. We have a thorough adoption process to ensure we are providing the very best homes for each of our ferrets. If a ferret is unable to be adopted, we will ensure they are loved and pampered for the rest of their days either at the rescue or one of our dedicated foster homes.
When you choose to surrender, we understand that this can be a very difficult and emotional choice to make. We will do everything we can to help make this act of love less stressful for both you and your ferrets. We aren't going to judge or shame you. We are here to help!
Currently, our waitlist is 6 months. We are a small, home based rescue with limited space and other resources. We can only bypass our waitlist for medical emergencies. We appreciate your patience while we work through our surrender requests that were received prior to yours.
On the day of surrender, we ask you to bring their current ferret food plus any favorite toys and bedding. We accept only Ferret Nation or Critter Nation cage donations. While our surrender fee is a minimum of $75 per ferret, our cost per ferret is many times higher. Whether you are able at the time of surrender or some time in the future, additional financial contributions help keep us going. Please note no animal will be turned away due to the owner's inability to pay the surrender fee.
